Bubble fusion - Bubble fusion or sonofusion is the common name for a nuclear fusion reaction hypothesized to occur during sonoluminescence, an extreme form of acoustic cavitation; officially, this reaction is termed acoustic inertial confinement fusion (AICF) since the inertia of the collapsing bubble wall confines the energy causing a rise in temperature. The high temperatures produceable through sonoluminescence raises the possibility that it might be a means to achieve thermonuclear fusion.
Nuclear explosion - A nuclear explosion occurs as a result of the rapid release of energy from an uncontrolled nuclear reaction. The driving reaction may be nuclear fission, nuclear fusion or a multistage cascading combination of the two.
Nuclear weapon - A nuclear weapon (the Bomb) is a weapon which derives its destructive force from the nuclear reactions of nuclear fission (the A-bomb). Besides fission, a different kind of nuclear reaction called fusion can be used to create an even more powerful explosion (the H-bomb).
Fusion rocket - A fusion rocket is a rocket that is driven by fusion power. Although the nuclear fusion reaction is well understood, there is currently no known method of producing useful energy with it.

The subject has been of scientific interest since nuclear fusion was first understood. In a narrower sense, "cold fusion" also refers to a particular type of fusion supposedly occurring in electrolytic cells, but in a protoscience that challenges mainstream thinking. Hot nuclear fusion reaction that occurs well below the temperature required for thermonuclear reactions (millions of degrees Celsius). It was brought into popular consciousness by the controversy surrounding the Fleischmann-Pons experiment in March of 1989. Such reactions may occur near room temperature and atmospheric pressure, and even in a relatively small (table top) experiment. A majority of scientists consider this research to be pseudoscience, while proponents argue that they are conducting valid experiments in a relatively small (table top) experiment. A majority of scientists consider this research to be pseudoscience, while proponents argue that they are conducting valid experiments in a non-predictable way, and most scientists believe that there is no proof of cold fusion in these experiments.
